Römisch-Germanisches Zentalmuseum (RGZM)
Leibniz-Research Institute for Archaeology, Mainz
The Römisch-Germanisches Zentalmuseum (RGZM) is a research institution for archaeology that operates worldwide. Founded in 1852, it has been a foundation under public law since 1870.
Research at the RGZM ranges from the Palaeolithic Age to the late Middle Ages. A great strength is the cooperation between science, restoration and archaeometry. In the workshops and laboratories, important archaeological finds from all over the world are examined, restored, conserved and copied. In addition, the RGZM has established itself as an important training center for archaeological restorers.

MONREPOS Archaeological Research Centre and Museum of Human Behavioural Evolution
Leibniz-Research Institute for Archaeology, Schloss Montrepos, Neuwied
MONREPOS is a research museum: at the cutting-edge of archaeological investigation, its mediation and its socio-political discourse are here inseparably interwoven. We are a dependency of the Römisch-Germanisches Zentralmuseum Mainz and a member of the Leibniz-Association. For more than 30 years we have been working at Schloss Monrepos (French for »My Repose«), in the historic recreational area between the UNESCO World Heritage Sites »Upper Middle Rhine Valley« and »Upper Germanic-Rhaetian Limes«.
